PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Now you’re booked in my schedule, we’ll stop using email to have our conversation and we’ll start using my project management tool, Asana.

A project management tool is a secure space online where we have have conversations, share files, set reminders, and create to-do lists.

Whereas files often get lost when managing projects through email, nothing gets lost or forgotten in Asana. It’s the simplest way to keep your project organised and make sure it goes as smoothly as possible!

Don’t worry – you won’t need to pay for this tool and it’s not hard to use. Click the button to watch a 2-minute tutorial on how to use it!

MY PROCESS

Project Application Form clarifies what your project is with an in-depth questionnaire to help me learn about your goals and vision.

Schedule a Call so I can find out more about your business and design project and a chance for you to meet me too (if we haven’t already met!).

Receive Quote.
Sign Contract.
Pay Deposit.
Join Asana.

I’ll ask you to create a Pinterest board and share it with me so that I can get a visual idea of what you want. If you have text to send over you can add this to Google Drive and share it with me.

We’ll schedule a 30 minute Zoom call 1 week before your project starts to go over your, ask last minute questions and get us both on the same page.

I will Design Stage 1 of your project and send it over to you to review. You’ll be able to give me feedback and I will make 2 rounds of revisions. This means that you will have two opportunities to request revisions to any of the design elements.

I will Design Stage 2 of your project and send it over to you to review. You’ll be able to give me feedback and I will make 2 rounds of revisions. This means that you will have two opportunities to request revisions to any of the design elements.

Write Testimonial.

Pay the remaining balance.

Once your payment is complete, I’ll send you your final files via Google Drive (.png /.jpg /.eps). The editable files are not included in the project. But if you do want them, let me know and I’ll create a separate invoice for the cost of these files.

CHECKLIST

Here’s what I need to get the project started:

1. CREATE A PINTEREST BOARD

On Pinterest, create and fill a public board with inspiration for your project. You must pin a minimum of 5 logos, 5 colour palettes, 5 patterns and 5 website designs.

Send me the link to your board when you’re finished so I can see it! (You can delete the board once your project is complete).

If Pinterest isn’t your thing, don’t worry. You can search Google for images that resonate with the way you want your project to feel and simply upload them to the ‘Pinterest’ task inside our Asana project. Watch the video above in the ‘Project Management’ section of this page to see how to do this.

2. FOR PRINT DESIGN ONLY

Send me your text, logos and any photography.

In order to stick to timeframes and deadlines set, I will need all the content for your print designs at least one week before I start the project.

You will need to provide all the text and supply your logo (if I’m not doing your branding!), other logos you would like included and any particular photos you want to be used in the project. Text can be provided as a Word Doc or Google Doc. Logos need to be EPS files. Images need to be High Res JPEGS. You can upload these files to the ‘Pre-work’ task in our Asana project. (See the Project Management section of this page to understand how to do this.)

FOR WEB DESIGNS ONLY

Send me your content (this can be a Word file or Google Doc)

In order to stick to timeframes and deadlines set, I will need all the content for your website before I start the project.

You will need to provide the text for all pages and supply your logo (if I’m not doing your branding!) and any particular photos you want to be used on the site. You can upload these files to the ‘Pre-work’ task in our Asana project. (See the Project Management section of this page to understand how to do this.)

FEEDBACK GUIDELINES

I really appreciate simple and straightforward feedback. It helps me clearly understand your thoughts and make the right changes to your designs.

Here are a few tips:

  1. Try and use bullet points to break up your feedback.

  2. Use headers to organise your feedback.

  3. Read over your feedback to make sure it’s clear and check that you’ve answered any questions I may have asked.

  4. Post your feedback as a comment on the relevant Asana discussion instead of emailing me directly. Back and forth emails can get tiring but communicating in Asana is a breeze!

  5. If you have team members that would like to add their feedback, I kindly ask that you gather the feedback into one message. This stops everyone from getting confused and keeps the project organised.

TIMELINES

To help keep your project on track to finishing on time, please provide feedback on your designs within two business days of receiving them.

I really appreciate your effort to provide files and feedback on time. Timeliness from both of us will help us get your project done on (or even before!) the deadline so you can move on to the next exciting task on your to-do list and I can cheer you on.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How will my new design be delivered?

You'll receive access to a Google Drive folder with all the digital files.

Will you send me the editable design files?

These files are not included in the project. But, if you do want them, let me know and I'll create a separate invoice for the cost of these files.

Will you send me the fonts you used?

In short, no. I own the licenses to the font files I use in your project. What I can do is send you the link to where you can purchase or download the font. However, I expand all the logos and any font that I use so you won't need the font files. The only time you would actually need them is if you were wanting them for your website.

Will you show me how to update my website?

Absolutely! At the end of your project, I offer a complimentary ZOOM Training Session to help you learn how to manage and update your own website.
